City Parks
McClusky has two city parks.
The Heart Park, located just south of Highway 200, features the heart sculpture and a gazebo. The park has hosted more than a few weddings.
The main city park is south of McClusky adjacent to the Kathy Davis Memorial Pool. A clean, shady park, it has playground equipment, covered shelters and facilities for RV’s and campers, including a dump station.
Located two miles north and 1/2 mile west of McClusky, Hoffer Lake is a popular year round attraction. The lake is the end of the line of the McClusky Canal, and offers year round fishing.
The recreation area features a boat ramp, along with camping areas, picnic tables, showers and meeting spaces.
Sheridan County has over a dozen other lakes with a variety of fish. More information can be found at ND Game and Fish.
Kathy Davis Memorial Pool is open seasonally. The pool is adjacent to the main city park and features a kiddie pool in addition to a large swimming area with diving boards.
The North Country Trail crosses 4600 miles through America’s rugged northern heartlands. The trail passes through Sheridan County on its way west.
The McClusky Canal
The canal was dug through this area 50 years ago and has provided visitors and locals with plenty of good fishing. The waters are abundant in walleye, northern pike and small mouth bass.
